Professor Olusola Akinyele taught me Real Analysis in the maiden edition of the Foundation Postgraduate Course in Analysis organized by the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja (NMC) at University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) during the period July—September 1989. A wonderful, kind, motivational and inspirational teacher. A Fellow of the Nigerian Mathematical Society, former Editor-in-Chief of our revered Journal of the Nigerian Mathematical Society, and very active invaluable consulting editor till his demise on Wednesday August 18, 2021. The Nigerian Mathematical Society and our nation, Nigeria had lost one of the finest 2nd /3rd generations mathematicians. The already endangered field of Mathematical Analysis and Differential Equations in Nigeria has suffered another great loss. A great loss to Africa and the entire world. My sincere condolences to the family. May the Good Lord comfort you and grant you the fortitude to bear the monumental loss. Grace, peace, favour and blessings of the Good Lord to you as you bid farewell to our revered Pastor, Professor Olusola Akinyele on September 3, 2021. May his soul rest in peace.
